Cupcake Challenge #51
It's not often that I get a break and am able to join a good challenge! I'm going to try to do more of these, because they really are fun. In fact, I gave this post a new label - Challenges. This is the first one, though. Since I have a label, now I'll be forced to do more entries because I just can't stand labels with only a couple of things in them! I've been meaning to do Courtney's (I even have a blinkie for it!) - but time, gah!
Anyway, this is for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge - a weekly sketch challenge that doesn't HAVE to include cupcakes, but if you have 'em, why not?
(Click the above link for the original sketch, and click the photo below to open it in a new window.)
I made several of the little gumdrops this weekend, and I still have a few left from the last project. So, you'll be seeing gummies for a while. :) I paper pieced this little owl's tummy, though it's hard to see in this size (if you click on it you can tell in the other window). I used Crystal Effects on his beak and feetsies to give them some shine, and to pop his beak out over the paper piecing.
Can you just picture him hopping home with this treasure?
To join the challenge, you can hop on over to Taylored Expressions and post a link to your version of the sketch. Can't wait to see what everyone does!
