The one about ribbon roses

Here is a little video tutorial on how to make ribbon roses, which I promised to do for you a few weeks (months...) ago. Sorry! It's here now, though, and I hope you learn something fun. :)

The pretty music in the background is what my toddlers listen to as they sleep at night. I play it in the hallway between their rooms so they can both hear it - great for keeping them calm, lousy for tutorial background music.

My darling baby brother (who is 5 inches taller than me and is somehow already 24 years old) hovered over my head to help me make the video. I love him.

I sound funny! :) Enjoy!

Make your own Stickles

Stickles (a brand of glitter glue by Ranger) has been used by stampers, scrapbookers, and crafters for years to add a bit of pizazz to all kinds of paper crafts. Easy to use, available in several colors, and relatively inexpensive they are an easy way to add some sparkle to your work. But, I wanted to have that same sparkle in my Stampin' Up! colors. So, I decided to come up with a recipe for my own SU! Stickle-like glitter glue.

Check out the following pictures:

Here is a heart from the new SU! Time Well Spent stamp set stamped in Staz On ink and colored with a Tempting Turquoise Marker and a blender pen dipped in Soft Sky.

Here is the same image, colored the same way, but finished off with Dazzling Diamonds applied with a 2-way glue pen. It adds some sweet shimmer, but isn't very precise or powerful.

Now, here is the same image a third time, colored the same way, but this time finished in my Stickles recipe. BLING!

The best part is that it's so easy to make and use!

Happy New Year from the MIA stamper!

Since last we spoke, I've been busy. B-U-S-Y. Autumn ushered in a plethora of viruses for my Dynamic Duo and we spent more time on medicine than not. We had several urgent care visits and one ER extravaganza. In addition to all that super duper fun we moved...over Thanksgiving the rain.

So, I've been slowly putting the pieces of my universe back together over the past few weeks and things are finally starting to resemble something of a shadow of what I would like them to be here at the new house.

There are pictures to share, promised videos and tutorials to upload, and bloggy news to catch up on.

So, if you haven't forgotten me, or you have been checking every now and then wondering where on earth I went - thanks! Sit back, have something warm to drink, and enjoy the next few posts of Very Little Talk and Lots of Pictures.
